In 2015, Recon was acquired by Intel, which manufactures AR glasses for corporate, industrial and sports applications. The current market niche has been dominated by Vuzix, DAQRI and the upcoming corporate version of Google Glass.
According to Bloomberg News, although Intel has yet to announce this decision, it has already cut down one-third of its staff.
Not too long ago, Intel just announced that it stopped its all-in-one project Project Alloy VR. However, taking into account the hot AR market in recent months, the termination of the AR project made people scratch their heads.
