IDT introduced the industry's first ultra-low power HD audio decoder with integrated class-G headphone amplifier and DDXTM class-D speaker amplifier. The innovative decoder designed by IDT can meet the stringent requirements of the D3 low-power standby mode of Windows 8 during runtime, thereby extending the battery life of the new generation of notebooks and tablets.

IDT 92HD95B is a four-channel high-definition audio decoder (two stereo DACs and ADC) with 24-bit resolution. The class-G headphone amplifier can reduce power consumption by up to 50% compared with the current generation of class-AB headphone amplifiers, and the DDX speaker amplifier can reduce power consumption by up to 70% compared with standard class-D solutions. These significant power savings can be directly translated into longer battery life in any mainstream notebook or tablet design based on the HD audio bus.
