IDT introduced the industry's first ultra-low power HD audio decoder with integrated class-G headphone amplifier and DDXTM class-D speaker amplifier. The innovative decoder designed by IDT can meet the stringent requirements of the D3 low-power standby mode of Windows 8 during runtime, thereby extending the battery life of the new generation of notebooks and tablets.
IDT 92HD95B is a four-channel high-definition audio decoder (two stereo DACs and ADC) with 24-bit resolution. The class-G headphone amplifier can reduce power consumption by up to 50% compared with the current generation of class-AB headphone amplifiers, and the DDX speaker amplifier can reduce power consumption by up to 70% compared with standard class-D solutions. These significant power savings can be directly translated into longer battery life in any mainstream notebook or tablet design based on the HD audio bus.

IDT 92HD95B has multiple integrated hardware functions that can enhance audio performance, including a selectable frequency high-pass filter for speaker protection and a 10-band parametric equalizer for speaker optimization, which can be implemented in a variety of operating situations. In addition, this audio decoder includes a hardware-based compressor/limiter that allows for higher average volume levels without causing resonance or damaging the speakers.
