On October 15, 2013 in Santa Clara, Calif., Silego introduced the SLG59M1446V, a 40 mΩ dual-channel load switch based on Silego 's proprietary submicron copper power FET technology. This technology supports the industry's smallest, most versatile, and efficient power switch with a plastic package down to 1 x 1 mm.
The SLG59M1446V is a full-featured dual-channel load switch packaged in an 8-pin STDFN 1.0 x 1.6 mm package. Each channel can be individually configured to be enabled. This device produces a linear ramp voltage even under dynamic load conditions. Each channel can be individually adjusted using an external resistor. The device can switch from 1.0 V to 5.0 V supply with continuous current and peak currents of up to 1A and 1.5A, respectively.
The 1.0 x 1.6 mm package allows efficient semiconductor devices to be packaged in extreme spaces. Silego product marketing director Nathan John mentioned, CuFET technology enables devices not only high performance, reliable and extremely small size compatible with standard plastic form.
The standard STDFN package additionally protects it from external light or damage that often occurs during WLCSP processing. This superior mechanical design allows standard PCB manufacturing processes to handle Silego's GreenFET devices.
