The Dutch court ruled that Samsung did not infringe on Apple’s patent

The Dutch court ruled that Samsung did not infringe on Apple’s patent According to reports, the Dutch court in charge of hearing the Apple v. Samsung design infringement case ruled on Wednesday that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Tablet PC did not infringe Apple’s registered design patents. This is Apple's fourth defeat in court in the past year.

The decision made by the District Court of The Hague covered the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 7.7.

In the courtroom, Apple proposed that Samsung's tablet computers infringe on its patent for arc angle design. Since the success of the iPad, many tablet PC manufacturers have widely adopted arc angle designs in their products. However, the court stood on the side of Samsung and determined that Samsung’s tablet computers did not infringe Apple’s design patents.

Samsung said in a statement that Apple is not the first to design a tablet computer with a rectangular and rounded corner design. It goes on to say that prior to Apple's registration of this design patent, many manufacturers' samples have also adopted a similar design.

This was at least the fourth time Apple had lost a lawsuit in the Dutch court in the past year. In June and October last year, Samsung had won in connection with 3G patents and multitouch technology. In fact, in the patent litigation between Apple and Samsung, the two companies had their own victory in the Dutch court.
