The new technology is a nano-grating of hundreds of nanometers on a SiO2 substrate. In a comparative experiment, Toshiba used nano-grating technology to increase the light extraction efficiency of OLED devices by 60%.

Toshiba used a diffraction grating to improve the light extraction efficiency of OLED devices, and adopted a technology called self-assembly nanoengineering self-assembled nanoengine.

Toshiba said that the technology is still in the laboratory stage, and there is still a long time to go to the market.
