Q2 Domestic smartphone market analysis: Samsung is firmly in the top spot

According to the latest Q2 2013 data released by EnfoDesk's survey of the current Chinese mobile terminal market, the entire Chinese market has reached 90.39 million mobile phone sales in the second quarter, an increase from the same period last year 36%, down 0.2% from the first quarter. The top three manufacturers in the market are Samsung, Lenovo and Coolpad, with market shares of 18.2%, 11.1% and 9.8%, respectively.

Among them, the sales volume of smart phones in the Chinese market was 77.11 million units, with a chain growth rate of 2.4% and a year-on-year growth rate of up to 101.9%. The market share of smartphones continues to rise to 85.3%. Compared with the first quarter of 2013, Samsung's market share increased the most, reaching 1.3%, while Apple's decline was large, down 1.6%. Among the top four local Chinese manufacturers, only Coolpad's market share increased by 0.9%, and the other three, including ZTE, Huawei and Lenovo, all declined slightly.

Analysys thinks that there are two main reasons for the decline in overall market sales in this quarter: First, the second quarter of each year is generally the off-season of the Chinese mobile phone market, and there are relatively few marketing activities, resulting in a decline in sales or a decline in sales growth; its Second, Apple ’s mobile phone sales were weak, which was nearly 30% lower than that in the first quarter. The main reason was that users ’enthusiasm for purchasing decreased after a few months after the launch of Apple ’s new products. Sales in the second quarter fell sharply. Samsung is the opposite of Apple, and its sales share soared because of the hot sale of the new Galaxy S4 this quarter.
