High-quality audio performance can be achieved at very low power consumption

Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of three analog input Class D stereo amplifiers to fully meet the needs of sound bars, aftermarket automotive solutions, portable speakers (audio docks) and LCD TVs. The TPA3116D2, TPA3118D2 and TPA3130D2 have the industry's highest programmable switching rate and the widest power supply, enabling high-quality, high-efficiency audio output. These devices are pin-to-pin and software compatible, and support a single-layer printed circuit board (PCB), which can help designers reuse a unified layout for multiple design schemes and save costs.

The main features and advantages of TPA3116D2, TPA3118D2 and TPA3130D2:

• 4.5 V to 26 V, the widest power supply voltage in the industry, can realize the synchronous operation of line power and battery power on the same circuit board, extending the battery life of sound bars and portable speakers;

• Efficient heat dissipation FET supports 30 W x 2 work (no heat sink required) or 50 W x 2 work heat sink (only TPA3116D2);

• The industry's highest programmable switching rate from 400 KHz to 1.2 MHz supports filter-less inductor operation and interference cancellation functions to achieve clear audio without distortion;

• Closed loop design provides excellent power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) and slower waveform switching edge rate, which can improve the performance of anti-electromagnetic interference;

• The industry's best RDS(on) of 120 microohms under 30 W x 2 is 20% lower than the leading competitive products. It can improve efficiency by reducing operating impedance.
