On Wednesday, Apple CEO Cook reaffirmed his opposition to the US President Trump immigrant ban. Cook said that Apple was founded by the son of immigrants. Without immigration, Apple would not exist at all.

On January 27, Trump issued an executive order restricting the entry of citizens from seven major Muslim countries, including Syria, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, and Libya, to the United States, requiring refugees from multiple countries to be taken within 120 days. Prohibition of entry into the United States, ordinary citizens of multiple countries are prohibited from entering the United States within 90 days.
The ban caused great controversy. More than 100 technology companies, including Apple, jointly signed a legal opinion and supported the initiation of the administrative order.
Cooke made the above statement when speaking to a group of students at Glasgow University in Scotland. He was awarded a doctorate in honorary science by the university.
Cook said, “Steve Jobs is the son of immigrants. Immigration at Apple is very important for Apple’s innovation. Our company relies on diversity...the diversity of ideas. It allows people from different backgrounds and different perspectives to gather. Together, we can create the best products."
This is not Cook's first speech on Trump's immigration order. Earlier, in a letter to employees, Cook said: "Apple firmly believes in the importance of immigration."
