ValueSetters acquires VR software startup SpaceoutVR

On May 22, 2018, ValueSetters, a publicly traded company in Boston, USA, acquired the VR software startup SpaceoutVR, but the parties did not disclose specific terms.

You may not remember SpaceoutVR, there was a company named Daydream. In 2016, Google paid $850,000 to them, and after they gave up the Daydream trademark, they became headlines. The trademark was later used by Google to name their head-mounted displays (HMDs). SpaceoutVR was the company that was originally called Daydream. SpaceoutVR was founded by Dennis Adamo and V. Owen Bush to develop applications and software for VR users.

However, the current SpaceoutVR has been acquired by ValueSetters, a publicly traded high-end consulting firm that helps early companies raise funds. The company also provides technical consulting and strategic consulting services. ValueSetters plans to use virtual reality for existing game IPs (such as chess.net) and to expand consulting services for VR game development contracts.

Every new technology platform basically uses games to attract users. ValueSetters CEO Cecilia Lenk said in a statement: "With the acquisition of SpaceoutVR, ValueSetters continues to enhance its powerful technology and gaming capabilities and will offer classic games for all virtual reality platforms. In addition, as an open virtual reality The leader in the application market, we believe that in the virtual reality space of consumers, SpaceoutVR can become a defined brand."
