National Instruments (NI) recently released the world's first radio frequency vector signal transceiver (VST) NI PXIe-5644R, which is a completely new software completely custom instrument. Software-centric architecture opens up a new era in which engineers and scientists can use LabVIEW to customize open field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based hardware to meet specific needs.
Comments:
"25 years ago, NI LabVIEW system design software with the instrument has been redefined, and now our vector signal transceiver instrument to do this again," co-founder of National Instruments, current president and CEO, Dr. James Truchard representation. "At the beginning of the company's establishment, we assumed that software will play a central role in the instrument. Now, we have truly witnessed LabVIEW's revolutionary change in the way engineers design and test RF.
“At QualcommAtheros, the instrument's flexibility and control of the pins play a key role in maintaining RF testing as efficiently as possible, and we are very satisfied with NI's new vector signal transceiver test performance,†said Qualcomm Atheros Engineering Director Doug Johnson said. "In our 802.11ac solutions for our customers to develop the process, NI PXIe-5644R brought us freedom and flexibility, and significantly improved our test throughput."
Product Features Up to 6.0GHz frequency range and 80MHz instantaneous RF bandwidth with industry-leading performance to test the latest wireless communication standards such as 802.11ac and LTE
Measure speeds up to 10x faster than competitive solutions Cost and size is only a fraction of traditional instruments FPGAs can be easily programmed to expand with LabVIEW, and can support multiple input multiple output (MIMO) configurations in a single PXI chassis, or Conduct parallel tests
