Today, in the cities along the Yangtze River, Jingzhou, Xianning, Wuhan, Huangshi, Huanggang and other places, "blue sky guards", video surveillance, "smart water conservancy" and other information applications guard the 1061 km waters of the northern section of the Yangtze River.

It is understood that in the first quarter of 2018, the bureau investigated and dealt with 12 illegal sand mining activities, handled 12 illegal sand mining cases, banned 9 illegal sand mining sites, and banned 1 illegal sanding site to regulate river management.
At the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Han River in Wuhan, Hubei Mobile installed video online monitoring facilities for 46 large-scale livestock and poultry breeding enterprises in Huangpi District to protect the water quality of the Yangtze River tributary, the Qinshui River.
