According to survey data from Sigmaintell, in 2017, global TV shipments of global brand manufacturers fell 4% year-on-year to 228 million units in 2017.

However, the world's top 15 ODM TV manufacturers shipped 84.9 million units, an increase of 18.1% over the same period last year. Sigmaintell's analysis is because the technology of foundries has become better and better in recent years, and the production speed is extremely fast and the cost is low. Many brand TV manufacturers have outsourced their low-end products to ODM factories.

According to statistics, the outsourcing orders of branded TV suppliers increased by 15% year-on-year in 2107, so that the TV ODM industry can still grow against the trend even in a downturn.

In 2017, with its strong R & D capabilities, TPV Technology is still the largest ODM TV supplier, with shipments increasing by 2.6% year-on-year to 16.3 million units. After Foxconn acquired Sharp, it successfully opened up the supply chain. In 2017, shipments increased by 72.8% to 14.6 million units, ranking second.

Mainland TV ODM manufacturers have also increased significantly. TCL SCBC shipments increased 24.3% year-on-year to 8.3 million units, BOE's shipments increased 12.5% ​​to 7.7 million units, and Shenzhen MTC shipments increased 25.7% to 6.5 million units.

Sigmaintell predicts that the ODM TV market shipments in 2018 will continue to rise to 88.5 million units, a 4.2% increase from 2017.
