Intersil introduces the latest single-ended Buck buck LED driver controller to help reduce costs and maximize efficiency
California, MILPITAS --- February 5, 2013-Intersil Corporation (Nasdaq Global Transaction Code: ISIL), a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced the launch of two new LED driver controller --- ISL1903 and ISL1904, which not only support the critical conduction mode of operation (CrCM), but also provide the highest efficiency and dimming performance for industrial and commercial lighting systems.
As high-performance single-ended buck and flyback LED driver controllers, the ISL1903 and ISL1904 can convert AC power into a constant current source that supports power factor correction (PFC) through single-stage conversion. As products for isolated and non-isolated applications, ISL1903 supports buck converter topologies, including isolated forward converters and non-isolated echo buck converters. The ISL1904 supports isolated flyback and non-isolated SEPIC chopper and boost topologies. Both products support the CrCM operating mode to achieve zero voltage switching operation, thereby maximizing efficiency and core utilization. ISL1903 and ISL1904 can also be used in combination with DC input power.
Both products are compatible with common dimmers commonly found in the market, and can be used for industrial and commercial lighting installation and retrofit applications. In addition, they can also be used for DC or AC input LED ballasts and general AC input LED retrofit lamps.
