The bus is called Arma and was developed by the French company Navya. According to the information on the company's website, Arma uses lidars and cameras to detect obstacles in front of the road and report its position to the base station via GPS. Therefore, the operator can know the real-time location of the vehicle.

The Arma is powered by electric power and can last for half a day depending on the distance traveled and the traffic conditions.

Arma is not the only driverless car tested on the campus of Nanyang Technological University. Two large full-size buses will also travel between the CleanTech Industrial Park and Nanyang Technological University.

These electric buses have been modified by lidar and other smart technologies. Researchers at Nanyang Technological University have also developed software to manage these buses.
